Fantastic Four – Final Trailer

Trailers, trailers, trailers everywhere! Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving it. So this time we are talking about the final trailer for the Fantastic Four reboot. And I am so looking forward to see this movie. Because, let’s face it, the original Fantastic Four was terrible. Those movies sucked so much, I don’t even understand how the first one got a sequel. My opinion about those movies has nothing to do with the story or the characters, though, but with the way it was executed, and the acting. I actually liked the idea a lot, so I’m really happy that there’s a reboot.

Now that I’m done complaining, let’s get into this new trailer. It looks fantastic (see what I did there?). The characters look great, because the acting doesn’t seem as lazy and/or forced as it did in the original. Miles Teller is in this movie, which can only mean good things are coming our way – the guy is getting better and better with every movie, and I can totally buy him being a bit of a dorky scientist.

The trailer starts with a flashback to Reed Richard’s childhood; at least I assume it’s him, because I doubt that they’d just show a flashback with some random kid doing sciency stuff with his friends. It also happens to work well with the plot and the character of Reed, seeing as he’s the genius mind behind the inventions of the Fantastic Four. And don’t they always start with that kind of stuff in their childhoods? In movies they do.

Anyway, it looks like we’re going to have a bit of an introduction to Mr. Fantastic (maybe the other ones too?), but that’s not the most important part of this trailer. No; that would be the story of them going into space, almost dying, and coming back with not-so-human abilities. Like setting themselves on fire. Or turning into a giant stone monster. Or being Elastigirl but less female; the guy really can stretch. Or turning invisible. And now that we have our heroes, we need a villain, and that villain is none other than Dr. Doom. He looks a lot scarier in this movie than the original. He also looks like he might be an actual threat, because there’s a lot of stuff blowing up in this trailer. The stakes are high, it seems, as Dr. Doom is not messing around. The Fantastic Four have to work together to stop him – and we have ourselves a movie. One that looks really good, I must say. I am certainly looking forward to August to go watch it.
