3. Nominate three new bloggers each day.

Fairy tales do not give the child his first idea of bogey. What fairy tales give the child is his first clear idea of the possible defeat of bogey.”                                                                          – G. K. Chesterton, Tremendous Rifles, XVII: The Red Angel

We just love the idea behind this one. How many time have people said that there are too many scary movies and stories out there, that they’re not appropriate for kids? But they tend to overlook this simple fact: kids know that there is evil out there. They’re not stupid. But what they may have to learn, or at least, see or hear about, is that the evil does not always have to win. Good can win. Dragons can be killed. And that is such an important thing for children to know, so that they can have hope, and can aspire to great things. If no one ever told their kids that the good guys can win, we would have depressed, scared kids. But through the stories we tell them and the movies we watch with them they learn how to deal with the bad things in the world, and might even grow up to do something about them.
