Blogger Recognition Award

Thank you so much #Lovebooks for this nomination! You really should check her blog out, especially if you love books like we do!  I also really love her blog design, it’s beautiful!

This award was created by the book blog Edge of Night.

  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
  • Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  • Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing.

Our story:

Why we started this blog? Well, I had the idea a while ago since I have been blogging for over five years (with different blogs and always as a hobby, never anything professional). And when I couldn’t get the idea out of my head to blog about fandom/fangirl stuff, I asked my crazy soulmate if she was on board. Naturally (or not, depends on where you’re standing), she was as excited about all of this as I was – and still am, of course. We wrote our first blog posts in Birmingham in our hotel room after the first day of Asylum 14. The blog went online a few days later, when we had WIFI again; and from that moment on we had a new project where we could let out our inner geek and share it with the world that hides behind the screens of our computers called the Internet.

Advice for new bloggers:

First of all, don’t rush into it. Make a list of things you want to write about, just so you know where you’re going and don’t run out of ideas after your first (couple of) post(s). It’s a short list? Doesn’t matter, it’ll get longer with time. It’s a long list? Great, you have a lot to say! Don’t be afraid to say it. It’s your blog, and you can do whatever you want with it. Don’t be scared to be yourself – after all, it’s the Internet, and if you want your blog to be “anonymous”, find a pseudonym. And we’re all crazy. There’s always going to be people who share your passions, are want to hear your thoughts. You may even help people if you choose to give advice! And don’t be scared to do so; I mean it, you might help someone, no matter how silly you feel. You don’t have to post something every day, but you might want to post something regularly – as long as you don’t stress yourself out about it. It’s supposed to be fun, and nobody will hate you if you don’t post for a while for whatever reason. And, like I said, we’re all a bit crazy, so share your passions! That’s what makes a blog so much fun to read.
